Sister Lucy & Sister Mary Thomas

Our conference leaders come from the Franciscan Sisters of the Incarnate Word, a community founded in 1972 by Mother John Marie Stewart. Born out of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and inspired by the call of the Second Vatican Council, the Sisters have dedicated their lives to evangelization, prayer, spiritual formation, and proclaiming the Gospel throughout the world.

For more than five decades, the Sisters have served the Church through missionary work, retreats, youth ministry, spiritual direction, music ministry, and outreach to families. Their missions have taken them across the United States and internationally to countries including Mexico, Japan, Poland, and India, where they have shared the message of Christ and helped foster spiritual renewal.

Established as a Religious Institute of Diocesan Right in 1991, the community combines Franciscan spirituality with a deep commitment to the work of the Holy Spirit. Their charism is rooted in prayer, joyful evangelization, and helping others encounter the living presence of Jesus Christ.

We are honored to welcome these faithful women of God to our Catholic Women's Conference as they share their wisdom, experience, and love for the Lord, inspiring women to grow deeper in faith and discipleship.
